How Digicel Brings Bill Payment and Mobile Top-Ups to Retail Kiosks
Published: 04/11/2026

Digicel & Azimut · Customer story
A Digicel subscriber passing through Excellent City Centre in Port of Spain can stop at a kiosk to pay a bill. It’s one of the retail locations where Digicel gives subscribers another way to take care of everyday services while they’re already out shopping.
Digicel worked with Azimut on a self-service experience that brings bill payment, mobile top-ups, account deposits and eligible plan purchases to retail kiosks across the Caribbean.

Bringing everyday payments closer to customers
For subscribers, paying a bill can mean making a separate trip or waiting for a staffed counter. A kiosk in a mall or shopping centre gives them another place to pay. Digicel lists kiosks at Trincity Mall and West Mall as well as Excellent City Centre.
Placement is one part of making self-service accessible. Payment choice matters, too. In Jamaica’s 2023 financial inclusion study, about four in five respondents who bought phone credit reported using cash. Respondents could report more than one method, and reported cash use varied widely across socioeconomic groups. Jamaica National Financial Inclusion Study, Table 29.
How Azimut connects the screen to the payment hardware
The kiosk application guides customers through the payment. The cash acceptor or card terminal takes the payment, and the operator’s billing and payment systems determine the outcome. The application can then show the result and issue a receipt.
Azimut SDK gives the application one JSON API for supported cash acceptors, card terminals and receipt printers. The SDK handles the communication with each device, so the application team can focus on the payment experience and its connection to the operator’s systems. Explore Azimut SDK.

What subscribers gain
Customers can pay Mobile, Digicel+ and FibreX bills or add credit to local and international mobile numbers at the same kiosk. Routine payments can go through self-service, leaving store staff available to help customers who need assistance.
Operating kiosks across retail locations
Operators running a distributed kiosk network can use Satellite to check which managed kiosks need attention, review available diagnostics and target application updates by device. The team can see which devices report successful installation before extending a rollout to more sites. Explore Satellite fleet management.
